Installment #3: Hollis Frampton Lab

During the winter term of 2017/18 Anne Breimaier ((Kunsthistorisches Institut der Freien Universität Berlin) and Matthias Gründig (Folkwang Universität der Künste, Essen) teach a cooperative project-based seminar with participants from both universities. The seminar deals with ADSVMVS ABSVMVS, a work by Hollis Frampton from 1982, which consists of 14 photographs and 15 texts.

On April 12th 2018 the exhibition Hollis Frampton: ADSVMVS ABSVMVS, In memory of Hollis William Frampton, Sr., 1913 – 1980, abest curated by Anne Breimaier and Matthias Gründig will open at Museum Folkwang in Essen. The exhibition will display an original edition of the photo series from 1982.

Installment #3: Hollis Frampton Lab is a curatorial laboratory accessible for the public, in which materials from the work process of Anne and Matthias and results from the cooperative seminar are presented. No prior appointment is needed.
